Woman rushed to hospital by air ambulance after becoming impaled on 4mm-thick wire in Appleby

A WOMAN was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after becoming impaled on a 4mm-thick piece of wire.
The 44-year-old was taken from Appleby, where the incident happened, to the Cumberland Infirmary, following the incident at 10.40am this morning.
The medical helicopter, Helimed 58 ‘The Pride of Cumbria’, attended the incident after being called out by the North West Ambulance Service.
The woman had an injury to her leg, but was in a stable condition when she arrived at hospital.
Her injury was not thought to be life-threatening.
