THE Archbishop of York will pay a visit to South Lakeland next Wednesday.
As part of his visit to the Diocese of Carlisle, Dr John Sentamu will call in at the Diocese’s Rydal Hall in Ambleside and Cartmel Priory Church.
While in Cartmel he will also meet youngsters from the village’s primary school and answer prepared questions from the young people in a BBC Question Time style format.
Later he will meet with directors and apprentices at the Lake District National Park Authority’s headquarters in Kendal.
Here he will hear about the work of the authority and issues of concern to the Church’s engagement with the community, such as affordable housing provision, before meeting with LDNPA apprentices.
The following day Dr Sentamu will visit a farm in Kirkoswald, near Penrith, to hear about the work of the Ecumenical Auction Mart Chaplaincy Team, before heading to Carlisle.
