Police urge residents to secure properties after sneak-in burglar steals handbag and cash from Ulverston home
9:11am Wednesday 23rd January 2013 in News
POLICE have urged people to securely lock their homes after a handbag and cash were stolen during a sneak-in burglary in Ulverston.
The thief entered a house on Steel Street through an unlocked back door overnight on Monday before taking a bag and money from the kitchen.
Officers have appealed for anyone who was in the Steel Street area between 9pm on Monday and 8.45am on Tuesday, or anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously, to contact Barrow CID on 101.
A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said officers wished to remind residents to keep their property securely locked, even if they are at home, and especially if they are not.
