HUNDREDS of people braved the snow this weekend to take part in a march against plans for a controversial underground nuclear waste site in Cumbria.
The decision on whether to move to the next stage of the process for the facility, which could take 15 years to build, will be taken next week by Cumbria County Council and the borough councils of Allerdale and Copeland.
If they vote yes, feasibility studies would then be carried out.
Protesters marched with banners for 1.5 miles through Ennerdale on Saturday to lobby against the plans.
