9:30am Wednesday 30th January 2013 in News
POLICE have identified a man whose body was found in Wastwater yesterday as missing diver Carl Morris from West Yorkshire.
Mr Morris, 39, of Broadgate, Huddersfield, was diving with a group of people on Sunday afternoon when he failed to surface from the lake.
His body was found yesterday by a police underwater search team from Lancashire.
Coastguard, the fire service, mountain rescue and an RAF helicopter were all deployed to look for Mr Morris and an ambulance was also called.
Police said his family was being supported.
Meanwhile, a joint investigation by Cumbria Police and the Health and Safety Executive into the circumstances of Mr Morris' death is underway.
