A BODY found off the coast of Fleetwood is thought to be missing Barrow man and former Cartmel chef, Paul Morris.
The body was discovered by a bait digger, quite far out from a beach in the area, at around 8.40am on Tuesday.
Lancashire Police say that formal identification has yet to take place, but Mr Morris’ next of kin have been informed.
The 41-year-old was swept from Blackpool’s South Pier while walking at around 12am on January 1. The father-of-two had moved from Rawlinson Street, Barrow, to Blackpool a month before his death.
He had previously worked as a chef at the Pig and Whistle in Cartmel.
A large-scale search and rescue effort involving Liverpool Coastguard, two lifeboats and a Sea King helicopter from RAF Valley piloted by the Duke of Cambridge, failed to locate Mr Morris in the days following his disappearance.
