A 20-year-old Ulverston man who has been charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and threats to kill a woman in her 50s has been named as Liam Hughes.
Police were called to a property in Ulverston town centre at around 6.40pm on Thursday, after reports the woman was being assualted by an unknown male in her own home.
The alleged victim’s son raised the alarm after finding a man in his mother’s house.
She is being supported by family members and specially-trained officers.
Mr Hughes, of Devonshire Road, is due to appear at Furness Magistrates' Court today.
