A 65-year-old woman fought off an attacker with her walking pole after she was assaulted during a walk near Ambleside.
The walker, who was near to Wansfell Pike yesterday at around 4pm, was grabbed by an unknown man in his early 30s.
He was also described as having dark bushy hair and a sparse beard.
But the woman cut the man’s right eyebrow as she fought him off with her pole, leaving him to make off towards the Ambleside area.
Anyone with information should contact PC Kate Edkins at Ulverston Police Station on non-emergency 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
