FRIENDS who smashed their target in a ‘mammoth’ fundraiser in the South Lakes have handed over the money to their chosen charity.
The team of pals, led by Paddy Wilson, set themselves a target of £1,000 when they took part in the Lakes Man of Steel triathlon, cycling, kayaking and fell running, and raised £2,168 for the RLI Neonatal Unit thanks to the generosity of sponsors.
Paddy said: “We completed the mammoth task in 15 hours and nine minutes. Thank you so much to everyone who donated, supported and participated. We cycled from Lancaster to Windermere, kayaked the length of the lake and then went up and down Scafell Pike. It was a great, great, day.”
The team trained for months before the arduous task.
