BUSINESS Secretary Vince Cable MP is visiting Eden today.

The senior Liberal Democrat politician will discuss issues surrounding rural businesses and local travel infrastructure during stops in Brough and Kirkby Stephen after being invited by Coun Peter Thornton.

He will be at Brough at 11am to see a proposed cycleway from Brough to Kirkby Stephen.

Afterwards, he will visit Kirkby Stephen East railway station - travelling there on a classic Cumbrian coach called ‘Daisy’.

After lunch at the Coast to Coast Fish and Chip Shop in Kirkby Stephen, Mr Cable will take part in a Question Time-style debate and informal networking event at the Masonic Hall between 1.30pm and 3pm.
