'Fail to stop' driver causes 'substantial damage' to car in Windermere

A MOTORIST who caused ‘substantial damage’ after hitting a vehicle in a Lake District car park is being sought by police.
Police said the driver failed to stop after colliding with a maroon-coloured VW Polo at Booths in Windermere between 3pm-5pm on Friday (February 15).
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said the offending motorist ‘will have been aware’ of the collision due to the extensive damage caused to the car’s driver door, back door and back quarter.
Witnesses to the accident or anyone with information are asked to contact Cumbria Police on the non-emergency number 101.
