A MAN has been arrested after more than 30 cars were damaged in the same night in a Furness street.
Police in Barrow are appealing for information after a spate of incidents overnight from Thursday (February 14) into Friday.
Officers, who are still trying to contact all the affected owners, received a stream of reports from upset victims who woke to find their vehicles had had their badges ripped off or damaged by graffiti in the Devonshire Dock Road area.
Police detained a 21-year-old local man on suspicion of committing damage to motor vehicles and placed him on bail until April 5.
Investigating officer PC Howard Lindow said: “We are currently investigating reports that more than 30 vehicles were damaged.
“We are still trying to trace a number of victims who have had their vehicles damaged and we believe there could be more vehicles that have been damaged that we are not yet aware of.
“If your vehicle was damaged when it was parked in the vicinity of Devonshire Dock Road on Barrow Island and you haven’t yet contacted the police, please call me, PC Howard Lindow, on 101.
“We are also appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact me at Barrow police station on 101.”
