THIS year’s Overground Underground Festival in Ingleton will run from Saturday, May 25 to Saturday, May 31.

For the third year, the family-friendly outdoors festival based in and around the Dales town will offer a wide range of activities and experiences for visitors and residents.

The programme will include talks, exhibitions, guided walks and outdoor adventure activities celebrating the hills, caves, villages and unique landscapes that make up the Ingleborough area.

One of the volunteer organisers, Jay Haigh, said: “We can offer our ever popular caving taster sessions for adults and children, a guided bat walk and dawn walk, mountain biking, climbing, archaeological walks and new for this year is a challenging Trail Race. We are also pleased to announce that renowned adventurer and author Andy Kirkpatrick will be our guest speaker on Saturday, May 25.

“If you prefer a gentler pace then there will be plenty of talks, exhibitions and chances to learn more about this fascinating area of the Dales.”

Ingleton’s Overground Underground festival was established in 2011 by a small group of volunteers passionate about the local landscape and has grown with local communities and individuals working together to put on a diverse range of events.
