£1000 stolen from Grange butchers in early morning burglary

A HEAVY duty safe containing £1,000 and a firm's records stretching back nearly 70 years was stolen in an early morning burglary in Grange.

Proctors Butchers at Kents Bank Road in the town was targeted between midnight and 7am today.

Offenders forced open a side window and stole the safe which had cash and sales ledgers dating back to 1945 inside.

Police officers appealed for anyone who may have heard anything during the night or who may have seen any vehicles acting suspiciously in the area to contact DC Kelly Hayton in Kendal CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Officers are urged local businesses to be vigilant and consider security in their premises to avoid falling victim to crime.

How could this happen without someone seeing it, could this be the start of a crime wave in Grange ,time to lockup up your valuables, looks like we have been spotted as a soft touch by the lowlife in our society. Where did we store the gallows ? I have the rope.
