THE family of a HGV driver killed in a motorway pile-up have described him as a 'caring man who was a devoted dad'.
Michael Raymond Proctor, 22, of Salisbury Street, Southport, was driving a blue flatbed lorry yesterday morning when it was involved in an eight-vehicle collision.
A spokesperson speaking on behalf of his family said: "Mike was a loving, caring son and brother and was devoted to his baby son, Tyler.
"All Mike ever wanted to be was a wagon driver like his dad. There is now a space in our lives that can never be filled.
"Mike leaves behind his parents, Tony and Debbie, sister Jenny and son Tyler."
Mr Proctor was a driver for HSS Hire, the tool and equipment company.
Chief Executive of the firm Chris Davies said: "We are extremely shocked and saddened by news of this tragic accident and our thoughts are with Mike Proctor’s family to whom we extend our very deepest and heartfelt sympathy and offer our full support."
