Man in critical condition after Eden bike ride accident

A 54-year-old Cumbrian man remains in a critical condition after falling from his bike during the Eden Valley Epic bike ride yesterday.
The incident, in which no other vehicle was thought to be involved, happened at around 12.35pm near Murton.
The man, who is from the Penrith area, sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Cumbria Police on non-emergency 101.
