Crag fast man rescued from Helvellyn by Patterdale MRT

A MAN became crag fast yesterday afternoon while descending Helvellyn.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team volunteers were called to help the man who was unable to move after slipping and losing his equipment.

The man had suffered a hand injury and was unable to use his ice axe and continue his descent.

He was located on the back wall of Helvellyn, approximately 80 metres above Red tarn. Team members assisted the man and the accompanying party down from fell.
