Man arrested after 'sexual touching' claims at Grasmere youth hostel

A 20-YEAR-OLD Grasmere man has been arrested by police investigating allegations of sexual touching at the village’s YHA hostel.

Officers said complaints of ‘minor sexual touching’ were made by ‘a number of females’ on Saturday (March 16).

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Allegations were made that a man had touched their bottoms.

“Police arrested a man, aged 20 from Grasmere, who has been bailed until March 27 while police continue with their inquiries.”

A spokesman for the YHA said: “Guest safety is our first priority. YHA is working with all of the appropriate authorities to fully investigate an alleged incident at one of our sites.”
