Detectives hunt burglar after jewellery is stolen from Kendal's Shakespeare Inn

DETECTIVES in Kendal are hunting a burglar who stole diamond rings from a private living area at a town centre pub.

The Shakespeare Inn on Highgate was targeted between 2.30pm and 2.50pm on Wednesday (March 20), Cumbria Police said.

The burlgar forcibly entered the living space and stole: 

An 18 carat white gold ring with diamonds;

A solitaire diamond ring;

A crylon sapphire and diamond ring; and

An 18 carat emerald and diamond ring with matching hinged earrings.

CCTV from the premises shows a man described as white, 5 ft 10” to 6 ft tall, of medium build, aged between 20 to 28-years-old, with short hair.

He was wearing white trainers, blue jeans and a blue or grey waist-length jacket.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area or who recognises the description of the man to contact Kendal CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
