A MAN charged with raping a woman in Kendal has appeared before a judge at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Lee James Goldsworthy, 29, was charged after the 22-year-old said she had been attacked near Angel Yard on March 9.
He was later also charged with two other offences - sexual assault and exposure – arising from an earlier incident involving a different woman which allegedly occurred in Kendal on January 26.
In court on Tuesday Goldsworthy, of Silverdale Drive, Kendal, spoke only to confirm his name and was not asked to enter pleas to the charges he faces.
He was remanded in custody until May 31, when a Plea and Case Management hearing will be held.
If, as expected, he pleads not guilty he will go on trial on August 19.
