A SOUTH Cumbrian radio station is in line for a top regional award.
Indigo 106.6fm - the first community station in the South Lakes - will take on two radio giants for the title of ‘best radio station’ at the Prolific North Awards.
The Kirkby Lonsdale-based operation, which began broadcasting in 2008, is up against Manchester’s XFM and Capital in the category.
More than 160 entries were received for 17 categories from leading creative and media companies across the north.
The winners will be revealed at an awards dinner on May 16 at Lancashire County Cricket Club.
Prolific North Limited is an independently-owned publishing company based in Manchester, covering media news in northern England.
Its awards aim to celebrate excellence and recognise and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the region's creative and media industries.
