A MAN was hurt after being punched to the ground in an early-morning attack in Kendal town centre.

Police said the victim was assaulted in Stramongate between 3.30am and 4am on Monday (May 6), before the incident continued onto Blackhall Road.

The man was hit ‘several times’, causing him to fall to the floor, a police spokesman said. He required medical treatment for his injuries.

Officers said there were several people involved in the incident, but that they were especially keen to speak to two males and two females over what happened.

The females were described as white, slim, around 5ft tall with dark hair. One had curly hair.

One was wearing leopard print leggings and the other baggy, patterned trousers.

The two males were described as white.

One was around 5ft 4” tall, slim and in his early twenties.

He was wearing a plain white t-shirt and navy blue tracksuit bottoms.

The second male was dressed in a checked shirt.
