A MENSWEAR chain’s youngest manager has impressed her bosses after setting up a ‘one-stop’ wedding department in a previously unused room above their South Lakeland shop.

Alex Dixon, 22, revamped a room at the Greenwoods branch in Stricklandgate, Kendal, turning it into a point of contact for a range of local wedding goods and services suppliers, including a wedding cake maker, bridal gown specialist, limousine hire company and photographer.

“We have traditionally hired menswear for weddings and I thought it would be a good idea to create a department where other wedding suppliers could show their goods and services,” Alex said.

“It’s just like a local family of wedding businesses, all helping each other.”

Greenwoods’ commercial manager John Clark said Alex had ‘breathed new life into the shop’.

“Within a short period of time Alex has created a virtual one stop shop for everything wedding related within Kendal. I am confident that her passion for customer service will continue to flourish.”
