A CONTRACTOR is being sought to carry out the multi-million pound revamp of a South Lakeland school.
Cumbria County Council is seeking to appoint a main contractor for the design and construction of work at Ulverston Victoria High School.
The contract is due to start in January and it is expected work would begin during the summer of 2014 — with a target completion date of summer 2015.
The scheme is being funded by £3million of Cumbria County Council’s capital resources and will reduce the number of buildings occupied by the school to bring down running cost.
The works include the creation of a new two-storey extension, internal alterations and new walkways around the site.
Coun David Southward, cabinet member for property, said: “It’s a scheme that will benefit young people in Ulverston and the surrounding area for many years to come.”
