RIP 'Ginge' : Friends show their support for Man Utd fan, 21, who died of mystery virus
HUNDREDS of friends and family turned out to say goodbye to a 21-year-old Kendal man who died from a mystery virus.
St Thomas’ Church was packed with more than 500 well-wishers who wanted to give Christian Rose, of Highgarth, a good send off.
The youngster’s love of Manchester United was reflected at the service as 21 friends wore team shirts, donated by the club.
And in a poignant touch, they all had Christian’s nickname, Ginge, printed on the back, along with his lucky number four.
Family friend Tony Dayson said: “It made it extra special. It was such a beautiful funeral and the family have said they are so thankful to everyone.”
Community spirit shone through as firms rallied round did not hesitate to help.
Mr Dayson said: “It was just phenonmenal how much people wanted to get involved. Stagecoach even provided a bus to take people to the Parkside Road cemetery.
