Major rail disruption after man hit by train near Lancaster

RAIL services in the area have been severely affected after a man was hit by a train near Lancaster.
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the line near Five Ashes Lane just before 10am.
Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were called, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body has been taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary to be identified.
"The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner," added a BTP spokesman.
Damage was caused to the overhead powerlines during the incident and Network Rail are now carrying out repairs.
