More than 100 sheep stolen from Mardale Common

POLICE are investigating the theft of more than 100 sheep from Mardale Common, near Haweswater.
Between July 11 and August 31 48 ewes and 61 lambs have been stolen from the moorland.
The sheep have yellow, blue and orange eartags with the serial number UK112774 and also have a red ‘W’ sprayed on their left rump.
Police are continuing with their investigation and are urging members of the public to be vigilant with any vehicles or people they do not recognise in the area.
