Open water specialists help launch new 'Love Your Lakes' campaign
A NEW campaign to help look after the water in Windermere has been launched.
Love Your Lakes aims to combat pollution in England’s largest body of water and surrounding meres and tarns by raising awareness of the damage high phospate can cause to residents, visitors, businesses and habitats.
Open water specialists Andrea Tucker and Pete Kelly from Head to the Hills arrived at the jetty at Fallbarrow Park pulling behind them the new information pack for local residents and businesses.
The launch was staged by Nurture Lakeland and the swimmers were met by representatives from the Lake District National Park Authority, the Environment Agency, Windermere and Bowness Chamber of Trade and staff from South Lakeland Parks.
The parks visitors also handed over a cheque worth £6785 to the Love Your Lakes charity.
