EIGHT teenagers took part in an organised sailing course over the summer holidays in Ambleside.
PCSO Laura Jackson organised the weekly courses - held at the Low Wood Marina.
The course was organised to give youngsters in Ambleside an activity to take part in through the school break.
It was funded by the Ambleside-based The Kelsick Trust, who donated £480.
The rest was paid for by the individuals to give them an incentive to keep attending.
The teenagers took part in various activities including knee boarding, wake boarding, canoeing and sailing.
PCSO Laura Jackson said: "This was an excellent initiative for the teenagers to learn new skills and also for them to make new friends and build relationships with their local officer.
"They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and due to this the instructors have agreed to keep the course running until the bad weather arrives."
