Police arrest man after series of Cumbria burglaries

POLICE in the north of the county have arrested a man they had been seeking in connection with a series of burglaries across Cumbria.
The 45-year-old, of no fixed abode, was arrested on Tuesday night on suspicion of committing burglaries in Carlisle.
Police also confirmed he will be questioned over similar offences in Kendal.
Detective Inspector Furzana Nazir, said: “We have been trying to trace this individual in order to question him about a number of sneak in burglaries in the area.
“The dedication of the officers tracing this man was evident when he was arrested by patrols that were specifically looking at the burglaries.
“It is important for the communities to know that we are investigating these burglaries thoroughly to ensure that we aim to bring those responsible to justice.”
A number of sneak in burglaries have occurred in the area recently and police have advised residents to ensure their property is secure at all times.
