MORE than 900 people turned out for a day in the outdoors at Sizergh Castle.
Greenwood Fair, which organisers said was the busiest in its three-year history, saw families learn about woodland crafts, visit artisan stalls and interactive workshops and listen to music.
“It felt like a celebration of autumn with the wonderful weather,” said Tom Burditt, lead ranger for Sizergh.
“The highlight for me was the new activity of tree climbing - which children thoroughly enjoyed in a safe environment.”
The day also featured a range of traditional woodland expertise, including axe work and wood turning plus activities such as face painting and bird-watching walks.
