Christmas card chosen to raise funds for Will Clark Fund
3:00pm Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
A SNOWY picture of High Street and Ill Bell will feature on a Will Clark Fund Christmas card.
It was taken by Chris Shepherd of Brathay, near Ambleside, while he was on a walk over Wansfell on Christmas Day 2009.
The picture was chosen by a panel of judges that included The Westmorland Gazette’s, Andrew Thomas, his daughter Rachel, Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron and Lake District hoteliers Josie and Martyn Rushton.
The cards will be on sale from the first week in November and there are already orders in for more than 6,500.
Andrew McPherson, general manger of Holbeck Ghyll, Windermere, has placed an order of cards for his entire Christmas mailing to his guests.
The Will Clark Fund was started last year to raise money for the 27-year-old fell runner, who was paralysed from the shoulders down after a cycling accident.
As last year, a pack of ten cards will cost £3.75. To order, see the Facebook page www.facebook.com/thewillclarkfund or e-mail your card order to email@example.com.
