Man dies after Cumbrian peak plunge

A 24-year-old man has died after falling 656ft (200m) down a Lake District fell.
The tradegy happened yesterday at around 4.30pm on Striding Edge, Helvellyn.
The Great North Air Ambulance's Langwathby-based Pride of Cumbria helicopter was called to the scene.
The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead after falling into Nethermost Cove.
An RAF Sea King helicopter, the Great North Air Ambulance, search and rescue dogs and mountain rescue teams from Patterdale also attended.
