FLOOKBURGH-based Bay Search and Rescue will feature on CBBC later this month.
The charity is taking part in a series called Hero Squad 2 which airs on the children’s channel.
Hero Squad follows six children aged between 12 and 13 as they are trained up by the various emergency services around the UK.
They then take part in a staged “Hero Squad” rescue.
The episode on October 23 at 5.30pm, features rescuer Gary Parsons and the team training cadets in techniques involved in quicksand rescue and about the specific dangers of Morecambe Bay.
It culminates in the cadets having to do a full, simulated rescue.
The series is fronted by former policeman-turned-presenter Rav Wilding and was filmed at Bay Search and Rescue’s Flookburgh station at Easter.
This year Bay Search and Rescue have been involved in 37 rescues a number of which have involved quicksand and Morecambe Bay.
