2:00pm Wednesday 9th October 2013 in News
A SMALL, family-run North Yorkshire hotel has been named Country Hotel of the Year.
The Good Hotels Guide selected The Traddock in Austwick for one of its ten César awards, regarded as the Oscars of the hotel industry.
A Grade II-listed Georgian country house, The Traddock was chosen from a shortlist of 450 for its ‘supremely comfortable’ interior and ‘caring service’.
The César joins a catalogue of honours for the hotel and restaurant, including the Condé Nast Johansens Readers' Award 2013 and an AA 4 Star Gold Award 2013.
The Traddock has been owned and run by The Reynolds family, Paul, Jenny and Paul’s parents Bruce and Jane since 2002.
On making the award, the judges said: “The Reynolds family have given their hotel the feel of a country home — not grand but supremely comfortable. The caring service is admired.”
