A CANADIAN film crew are heading to the Lake District to explore the legend of Bownessie.
CMJ production, from Montreal, Quebec, are working on a documentary series about monsters called Bogeymen, to be shown in Europe and parts of America and Canada.
They will be interviewing local exerts and business people to find out more about the ‘Monster of Windermere’, during their four days of filming.
Eileen Jones, of Ambleside, will be one of those interviewed by the team, as in 2006 she saw a 20ft serpent-like creature emerge from the waters while standing at Watbarrow Point, across from Waterhead.
She said: “I am looking forward to getting involved because anything that promotes the Lake District and brings more visitors to the area can only be a good thing.”
