Lyth Valley makes Lonely Planet beautiful world list

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has heralded the 'wonderful' news that the Lyth Valley has made the Lonely Planet beautiful world list.

The Lonely Planet has published the new book to showcase beauty from across the globe.

The book’s description of the valley is: “The unspoilt Lyth Valley is tucked in a hidden corner of Cumbria, where trees are laden with fruit and rolling hills are the most magnificent green.”

Mr Farron said: “The Lyth Valley is a beautiful place and it's fantastic that it's been given this award. Comparing it some of best views in the world is fantastic and well deserved. I hope this book with boost tourism to our county and the South Lakes.”

Is the article about Lyth Valley, or the fact that TF has said something?
A picture or two maybe? A little information about the valley? When is the best time of year to visit? How to get there if travelling from abroad? How much the book costs? What other places are included In the book? Is this the first time Lyth Valley has gained notability? Sure, maybe *end* on "when quizzed, local MP said.." but even that's a bit of a stretch.

But no, lets start the news article about a book that will be promoted on both sides of the Atlantic with the words "South Lakes MP Tim Farron" :P

This is sadly what we have come to expect from the Westmorland Gazette. The mouthpiece of Tim Farron. I get the Lancaster Guardian every week and it does not promote the local MP like the Gazette does Farron and their MP actually works in the constituency. Unlike Farron who photo chases and nought much else. The vast majority of us have no wish to read the comments from Farron, we have been fed too many lies and half truths from his own office to believe or put any faith in anything he says. The Westmorland Gazette should be politically impartial.

There is even a link to every other article that has mentioned Mr Farron! Come on Westmorland Gazette. You're supposed to be a newspaper, not a fanzine. Lazy journalism.
