South Lakes MP Tim Farron has heralded the 'wonderful' news that the Lyth Valley has made the Lonely Planet beautiful world list.
The Lonely Planet has published the new book to showcase beauty from across the globe.
The book’s description of the valley is: “The unspoilt Lyth Valley is tucked in a hidden corner of Cumbria, where trees are laden with fruit and rolling hills are the most magnificent green.”
Mr Farron said: “The Lyth Valley is a beautiful place and it's fantastic that it's been given this award. Comparing it some of best views in the world is fantastic and well deserved. I hope this book with boost tourism to our county and the South Lakes.”
