Ulverston MIND celebrates 25 years helping the community
11:18am Monday 14th October 2013 in News
ULVERSTON Mind celebrated its 25th anniversary last week as part of World Mental Health Day on October 10.
The charity in Queen Street has been supporting people experiencing mental health problems, promoting good mental health and combating the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness, since 1988.
To mark the anniversary, it opened its doors to the public for a birthday tea party.
An information stall was also held at Ulverston Market Cross and a street collection raised £94.98.
The charity offers social, emotional and practical support for those experiencing mental health problems and a flourishing support service for women at risk of, or experiencing, postnatal depression, called Connecting Mums.
It also has a team of counsellors who worked with over 70 clients last year.
It can be contacted on 01229 581578, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by dropping in on either Mon, Tues, Thurs between 9.15am to 3.15pm, or on Wednesdays between midday and 4pm.
