Hello, hello, hello - Kendal shoppers urged to greet police at community event

SHOPPERS in Kendal are being urged to say 'hello' to their local police officers during a community event this weekend.
Cumbria Police and several partner agencies will be on hand to greet members of the public at the town centre's Birdcage on Saturday and talk to them about any concerns they may have.
Inspector Paul Latham, who will attend the session along with representatives of Trading Standards, Cumbria Fire and Rescue, Young Cumbria and South Lakeland District Council, said: “It is the ideal opportunity for members of the community to discuss any issue with us, from Hallowe'en and Bonfire night concerns, to crime prevention and personal safety.
“There will be the chance to get their bicycles securely marked, which we are offering for free.
“We are in the town centre at the weekend to speak to as many people as possible. Please don’t think that it is too minor to bother us with, come along and have a chat.”
The event takes place from 10am to 2pm.
