A 12-YEAR-OLD boy involved in a collision with a car earlier today was flown to hospital with serious leg injuries, police said tonight.
The youngster was hit by a Mitsubishi Shogun at 3.45pm near the Bridge Hotel on Stramongate, Kendal.
A number of police cars and paramedics arrived at the scene before he was flown by North West Air Ambulance to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.
Witnesses at the scene described hearing screeches of tyres and said he was walking home from school with friends when the incident happened.
