A SOUTH Lakeland motorcyclist has died after he was involved in a collision with a car on the A684.
Emergency services were called to Garsdale, Sedbergh, at 1.40 pm today after a collision occurred between a BMW motorcycle and a car.
Paramedics attended, but despite efforts at the scene, the 48-year-old man from Flookburgh, Grange-over-Sands, died.
The driver of the car, a Hyundai Amica, was a man in his seventies and was not injured.
Police have informed the family of the deceased and formal identification will take place.
Diversions were in place until around 8pm but the road has now been fully re-opened.
