A STORM set to bring heavy rain and wind gusts of more than 70mph to England and Wales, is now predicted to miss most of Cumbria.
The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning to the North West but now that prediction has today been revised.
The agency is now warning of the potential for some localised flooding tonight into Monday. It had earlier been predicted that between 20mm to 40mm of rain could fall within six to nine hours across the county.
Frank Saunders, chief forecaster at the Met Office, said: "A developing storm is expected to reach the UK later on Sunday and track northeastwards across England and Wales on Monday.
"Heavy rain and strong winds will affect many areas of England and Wales with northern parts of England and north Wales probably escaping the worst of the wind but likely to be affected by some very heavy rainfall."
