HGV crash closes M6 near Carlisle

Three lanes of the motorway just outside Carlisle are blocked after a lorry crashed onto the wrong side of the road.
The HGV, travelling southbound between junctions 44 and 43, crashed and entered the northbound side of the road blocking all three lanes.
No one has been hurt.
The crash happened around 2.15pm and is causing major delays on the motorway.
Emergency services are at the scene.
The road has been closed to recover the HGV.
A diversion is in operation.
Cars and vans should leave the motorway at J43 and use the A69 westbound to Carlisle, then the A7 northbound to re-join the M6 at J44. This diversion is not suitable for lorries.The M6 northbound carriageway between Junction 43 and 44 has been closed following a one vehicle road traffic collision.
