How should the agricultural budget be spent? Public urged to have their say
THE public is being asked how they would like to see billions of pounds spent on the countryside until the end of the decade.
In the next few weeks, the Environment Secretary Owen Paterson will decide how to spend the £2billion available from England’s agricultural budget and for the first time the public is being consulted on how the money should be spent, in a consultation launched by Defra.
As farming dominates three-quarters of England’s countryside, the RSPB believe it is right that everyone has their say.
