STAFF from a Furness factory have helped volunteers who run the Save the Children charity shop in Market Street, Ulverston, to spruce up the retail premises.

GlaxoSmithKline encourages each of its workers annually to take a day with pay to help a good cause through the firm’s Orange Day initiative.

Lenny Miller, Karen Moses and Clare Burrow spoke to Save the Children manager Jackie Kenyon to list what needed to be done – and then got a team of colleagues to volunteer for the work.

Ulverston site staff members Alison Taylor, Donna Eldon, Pam O’Connor, Anna Shaw, Astrid Gibbs, Oliver Ingham and Noel Moorhouse all helped out along with the shop’s own Jacqui Sumner and Patrick Ruddy.
