BOOTH’S shoppers in Ulverston and Windermere are being targeted as part of Caritas Care’s ‘Find 40’ campaign to help counter the growing shortage of would-be adopters in the region.

Cumbria adoption charity Caritas Care launched its campaign earlier this year in a bid to encourage more people to come forward and offer a child a loving home for life.

This latest initiative will see the charity’s adoption experts team up with Booths supermarkets to visit eight locations in eight days.

Caritas Care Director of Services Amanda Forshaw said: “Many children have been waiting for months, even years, for the opportunity to be part of a new family. The Booths supermarket road show is designed to raise awareness about adoption and encourage people to come forward and offer a child a home.”

The road show kicks off next week and families are invited to join the team on Thursday November 14, 9.30am to 3pm, for an event at Booths supermarket on Canal Street, Ulverston.

Windermere shoppers can join the adoption team on Friday November 15, 9.30am to 3pm, at the Victoria Street store, where social workers and adopters will be on hand at both events to provide an insight into the adoption process.

The road show will see the team travel across Booths supermarkets in Cumbria, Lancashire and Manchester before arriving in Salford on Thursday November 21 for the final event.

The charity aims to find 40 new couples or single people who are willing to adopt children waiting for families in Cumbria and the North West region.
