Police are appealing for information following the theft of 52 Texel cross lambs from a field in Kendal.
Officers say the 'fat' animals went missing sometime between October 12 and November 4 from the land between Brigsteer Road and Underbarrow Road, adjacent to the A591 dual carriageway.
Each animal had an orange tag in its ear with the number '2013' on it and green marking on its ribs.
Police are unable to confirm further details at this time but anybody with information is asked to contact PC Claire Martin on 101.
