Visitors to Cumbria County Council's libraries can now have free access to more than 50 popular magazines online via a new digital magazine service.
The service – Zinio – allows people who visit www.cumbria.gov.uk/libraries to read from a range of titles covering a variety of hobbies and interests, ranging from AutoExpress, Fortean Times and Ideal Home to Mountain Biking UK and World Soccer.
Users log into Zinio by using their library card number and choose a magazine to read straight away.
Zinio is PC and Mac compatible and you can read most magazines online via your browser, or offline by downloading the Zinio app.
There are no checkout time limits or limit to the number of magazines you can download at the same time.
Cumbria County Councillor Beth Furneaux, Cabinet member for the library service, said: "This is another impressive addition to what the library service can offer online. "These changes improve access and will open up many magazines to people who may not be able to visit a library."
