YOUNG visitors to Grizedale Forest are being encouraged to hunt for Stickman this winter.

A new trail is based around the popular children's book by Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson and Axel Schefller.

It's about a Stickman who ends up separated from his family and goes on an adventure before eventually being reunited with them.

The trails involve spotting Stickman and his family throughout the forest and will run until the end of January.

Stickman craft activities and story telling will also take place in the Yan over the weekends of 7-8, 14-15 and 21-22 of December.

Meanwhile, Café in The Forest is selling tasty Stickman treats. And there is also a Golden Bauble Treasure Hunt taking place every weekend in December.

All treasure hunters will be entered into a competition to win a Discovery Pass, which includes a host of benefits, such as free parking for a year.

Visitors can also find the perfect Christmas gift in the Rheged @ Grizedale Forest Shop.

And the shop is selling Christmas trees at Grizedale Forest up until Christmas. Dave Lowe, Grizedale Forest manager, said: “Grizedale Forest provides a wonderful alternative Christmas experience in the beautiful surroundings of the forest."
